Thanks for fixing your submission. Neither Steffi nor I have any idea how or why this happens, but it HAS happened before. Usually, resubmitting fixes it.
Good job on the press, and on your labels. Your author names are a bit off, so I’m curious: What source were you using to get them? Flora of North America is a very reliable source for most plants. Even Wikipedia gets things right on occasion (though I’d look in another source just to be sure). BTW, when you go back and look, “L.” stands for Linnaeus. He described a LOT of plants. If you want, go ahead and reply to this with corrections.
Genum is no longer the accepted Genus name for that specimen; it’s now called Geum macrophyllum. I’ve seen Genum macrophyllum a few times floating around still, though, so I won’t count it against you.
Also, when using the scientific names, the Genus is capitalized but the species is all small-case; e.g., Geum macrophyllum, Sorbus aucuparia, etc. When hand-writing the names out, people will typically underline them. We have a habit of capitalizing proper names, but in the future, if you can remember “Genus species”, that might be handy. I don’t know how sensitive computerized tests can be about that kind of thing.
The one thing I really wish I could have seen: reproductive bits for the Geum and the Sorbus. I’m not sure about where plants are in their reproductive cycles in the collection locality, so you may not have had access to flowers and/or fruits. But if you DO see flowers and/or fruits – like that Arabidopsis – be sure to grab some!
Good press, good label with the data we asked for (mostly), and good presentation. I’d have liked to have seen a little more by way of the specimen, but overall, a good job!
