This was a pretty fun assignment. I once again apologize that so many of my assignments are being turned in at the finish line.

Sorry for the late reply on these, they were pressed together and I tried to press the large rhizome of the fireweed at first which did not work. I had it hanging for a couple weeks and it still was not dry. I just put it in my food dehydrator and will sew it on once its fully dehydrated, but here are the finished products besides the sewed on rhizome. I was especially excited that the seed pod of the fireweed burst and stuck to the page!

Sorry for the late upload of this. I still have 2 in the press that will be uploaded within the next couple days. Here is the first plant that caught my eye in my area of Northern Idaho this spring. This plant known locally as the False Lily of the Valley (Maianthemum stellatum L. Link) in the Asparagaceae family is one of the first plants to produce shoots. It also is one of the first plants to flower.
