Plant Bingo – Owen Tucker

7/9/24 Update: After walking around Anchorage for a good two hours, I finally found a plant with siliques down by Chester Creek.

I am still working on finding a silique example in the real world. For the porate anther dehiscence, that’s a mallow. I couldn’t actually see the anthers on that flower well enough, but I read that they have pores, so I included it. The diadelphous example is a vetch (Fabaceae).

    Thanks Owen,
    nice job on these! There should be plenty of weeds all around you that are in the Brassicaceae, look for some of the yellow ‘ones’ in your area. Or if you let your cabbage go to fruit, it would show it, but that might be a little early.

      I found one! It is something very similar to your image. Yellow flowers too, but the leaves look different. Thanks for the tip!
