Dwarf shrubs other then Dryas include <em>Vaccinium vitis-idea<\/em>, <em>V. uligonosum<\/em>, <em>Cassiope tetragona<\/em>, <em>Arctostaphylos alpina<\/em>, and <em>A. rubra<\/em> and prostrate willows <em>Salix reticulata<\/em> and <em>S. phebophylla<\/em>. At Murphy Dome in the Interior \u00a0<em>Betula nana<\/em> stands are extensive. Graminoids such as <em>Hierochloe alpina<\/em>, <em>Trisetum spicatum<\/em>, <em>Carex microchaeta<\/em>, and <em>C, scirpoidea<\/em> may be present, but provide little cover. Mosses are usually present in small quantities, and lichens (<em>Cetraria cucullata, Cetraria<\/em> ssp., <em>Cladina alpestris, Thamnolia<\/em> spp., <em>Sterocaulon<\/em> spp.) may be common but not co-dominant. Trees are absent, and shrubs taller than 20 centimeters are absent or provide less than 25% cover.
