Would you please go back to the assignment and look up the Rubric? You may find it simplifies this assignment quite a bit. Additionally, it is unclear which member of the couplet resolves into which Plant (1, 2, 3, 4). I can guess, but the idea is to take the guesswork out of it.
Focus on making couplets – that is, pairings of choice. Like so: A has glitter, -> B. A’ is without glitter, -> C. B has rhinestones and = Plant 1. B’ is without rhinestones and = Plant 2.
And remember: each couplet will offer up a single, unique description.
Take a look at some of your classmates’ submissions, and you’ll see what I mean – and don’t forget the Rubric. If you need some help, please go ahead and email me.

I edited the post accordingly! I tried to simplify it, let me know if this works. I also wanted to note that the rubric wants us to have indentations but the post formatting does not allow for indentations on this website.

Remember, couplets are pairs of single, obvious choices:
A. Plant has feature X… -> Plant 1
A’. Plant lacks feature X… -> B.
B. Plant has feature Y… C.
C. Plant has feature Z…. Plant Etc.
C. Plant has feature ZZ (or does not have feature Z)… Plant Etc. Etc.
B’. Plant lacks feature Y… Plant Unusual.
There will only ever be two choices for a couplet. And you won’t see a B”.
Take a look at some of your classmates’ submissions. As for indents, using the spacebar will work to nest the couplets.
